Great News! "Orange Tape" Proud Boy Insurrection Advance Team Identified, Arrested, & Charged!!

I’ve been looking forward to justice catching up to these particular insurrectionists since I wrote about them on 1/27:

Frightening New Video Shows Coordinated Group Leading And Fomenting The Capitol Riot

That diary was based heavily on original investigative work by Mr. David Leibowitz at Digital Diplomacy on titled It Only Took 12 People To Siege The D.C. Capitol Building.

In a criminal complaint, an FBI agent described how the group “moved closely to each other” inside the Capitol on January 6 and wore pieces of fluorescent orange tape affixed to their clothing or gear.

Some are accused of leading crowds of rioters as they pushed through multiple police lines and made their way through the Capitol grounds. They all wore tactical-style gear, including helmets and gloves. One had a wooden club or ax handle that was initially disguised as a flag.

Authorities arrested the men and women in an early morning sweep Thursday. William Chrestman, Louis Enrique Colon and Christopher Kuehne were taken into custody near Kansas City, Missouri, and Cory and Felicia Konold, brother and sister, were arrested in Arizona, according to the Justice Department.

According to court documents, the group, who identified themselves by wearing orange tape marks on their clothing, worked together to storm the Capitol.

Federal investigators used social media and cell phone tracking to place the subjects at or near the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Court documents indicate that Chrestman shouted at a Capitol police officer during the interaction: “You shoot and I’ll take your f***ing as* out.”

Around 1 p.m., Chrestman and the Konolds moved to the front of the crowd during the initial confrontation with police, the affidavit says. Chrestman appeared to have a black helmet with a strip of orange tape hanging from his backpack. The tape was similar to the kind that was on the headwear of the Konolds, Kuehne and Colon.

Within minutes, the affidavit says, the crowd overwhelmed U.S. Capitol Police, toppling metal barricades and advancing toward the Capitol. Chrestman and the Konolds went past the barrier to be at or near the front of the crowd at the next police barrier.

At another point, the affidavit says, Chrestman encouraged others in the crowd to stop police from arresting another protester. During that time, Chrestman’s ax handle could be seen wrapped in a blue flag, it says.

As the crowd continued to advance, Chrestman put on the black helmet with orange tape, according to the affidavit. The flag had been stripped from the ax handle. Soon after, the affidavit says, Chrestman removed the helmet and donned what appeared to be a respirator. Then Felicia Konold helped Cory Konold put on the helmet.
